FREEDOM MISUNDERSTOOD.

Image
Freedom is misunderstood. There’s a focus on being able to do, or to choose. Think about your local supermarket, and the freedom you have to pick any sort of cereal. Any sort! So much freedom to do what you want, on the major and minor levels. But what about freedom from? Don’t get me wrong. I love freedom to do whatever I want; but how often do I use it? How often am I prevented by subtle, invisible walls inside me that prevent me from boarding flights, finding new restaurants, or breaking my routines? I don’t blame myself, you know. That’s human. Routine is often quite nice. But not always. And it’s worth examining when we limit our own freedoms. That’s because freedom to, while rightly celebrated, has an oft-ignored sister. And that’s the freedom from. Freedom from includes freedom from internal limits. It involves freedom from desires that lead you by the nose into unthinking patterns. If you want to be rich, that’s fine. That’s a choice you’re free to take. But freedom from that r...

THE ART OF BOOTLICKING AND SYCOPHANCY.

Image
It is the losers’ ambition to succeed on others’ hard earned positions. The mere word β€œbootlicker” or sycophant brings out so many fervent memories of cartoonish people who were desperate to achieve things in life… but unfortunately on their own they are scum bags… They are like Hydra in Greek mythology… Every time you cut off one head… two more would grow to replace it… They come from all spheres of life… from across all breeds of human race… and since the dawn of humanity… Perharps they have found a fertile ground in the politics of Kenya and social media has become their effective tool of trade Well they function exactly as parasites… hooking on the prey, feeding on it and manipulating it for their own benefit… like stomach worms… feed on your food… make you sick and make you crave for foods and lifestyles you never really wanted to adopt… Characteristics of a Sycophant are as follows: Excessively Sweet This is one of the classic traits of a sycophant. He talks very swee...

10 PM THOUGHTS

Image
When God shuts the door and builds your capacity. This week after a very long and I mean very long delay something I have been waiting for for several months has come through. Well, truth be told, waiting is not easy. Truth be told, there is nothing as hard as being told " come next week" and you are under pressure. However, every time I go through these kinds of delays I always reflect back on incidences in my life and in the lives of others... Incidences that saw Open doors lead to unmitigated disaster. There are different types of delays, the delay caused by forces of darkness that want to embarrass and harm you. Delays caused by your own laziness and lack of zeal and delay caused by God the Almighty Himself, closing doors in order to help you build capacity to handle what is on the other side. It is important to discern the difference. Today, as I reflect on the huge delay I went through since June last year and what I went through.... I thank God for the training. It wa...

OLD AND WISE

Image
This old lady handed her bank card to the teller and said β€œI would like to withdraw $10”. The teller told her β€œFor withdrawals less than $100, please use the ATM. The old lady wanted to know why.  The teller returned her bank card and irritably told her β€œThese are the rules, please leave if there is no further matter. There is a line of customers behind you”. The old lady remained silent for a few seconds and handed her card back to the teller and said β€œPlease help me withdraw all the money I have.”  The teller was astonished when she checked the account balance. She nodded her head, leaned down and respectfully told her β€œYou have $300,000 in your account but the bank doesn’t have that much cash currently. Could you make an appointment and come back again tomorrow?  The old lady then asked how much she could withdraw immediately.  The teller told her any amount up to $3000.  β€œWell please let me have $3000 now” she said. The teller kindly handed $3000 very friend...

ONCE BITTEN?

Image
A man sees a snake burning in the flames and decides to free it from the fire. The snake bites him as soon as he catches itand it causes the person excruciating pain.  The person immediately throws the snake away and the snake falls back into the burning flame. At this point the person looks around and finds a metal stick. He uses the stick to save the snake from the flames. Another person who was watching the incident approached the person and asked him ; "This snake bite you! Why are you trying to save it's life?" The first man replied ; "The nature of the snake is to bite, but it will not change my nature, and my nature is to help." Don't change your behavior because of someone's bad nature or past experiences.  Do not lose the purity of your mind.
